Because we know that healthy lifestyles are achieved through nurturing mind, body and spirit, well-being and fitness at the Y is so much more than just working out. Beyond fitness programs, we provide educational programs to promote healthier decisions. From low-impact exercise and chair classes, stretching and strength training to boot camp and yoga, you’ll find a group class that’s fun, supportive and keeps you moving.
Pilates
Pilates is a fitness program, to strengthen core muscles of the body. All levels welcome, come and join us!
Yoga
Yoga is a vast collection of spiritual techniques and practices aimed at integrating mind, body and spirit to achieve a state of enlightenment or oneness with the universe. Though yoga’s ultimate aim is lofty, its essence is practical and scientific as it emphasizes direct experience and observable results. It is not a religion, but a practice of personal inquiry and exploration. As the cultural and religious diversity of practitioners attest, yogic philosophy speaks to universal truths that can be incorporated within any belief system. There are no pre-requisites required to begin practicing yoga. Yoga is for everyone, irrespective of age, gender, belief system, cultural background or ability.
We offer:
Gentle Yoga - Appropriate for absolute beginners in good shape or students returning to yoga
Chair Yoga - This gentle class is suitable for people with orthopedic issues. Chairs are provided for those who are unable to get down to the mat.
Evening Yoga for Adults - Come join us for a night of yoga; stretching, strength work, balancing and abdominal work. All levels welcome, modifications and explanations of poses given.
