Summer Aquatics Instructors / Lifeguards
For June – August 2012
The successful applicant will supervise and ensure the safety of participants in YMCA swim lessons. Duties will include but will not be limited to instructing all levels of programs, providing a safe and clean environment; cleaning of pools as needed; maintaining customer service and public relations; Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:At least 18 years old
Holds one or all of the following certifications:
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
- American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
- YMCA Progressive Swimming Instructor or equivalent certification 3
Previous experience working with child preferred. Current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR required. For more information, please contact:

After School Recreation Counselors
September thru June - Monday thru Friday 3:00-6:00
These are direct care positions working for the Community YMCA at our onsite afterschool programs in elementary schools throughout Westchester and Putnam Counties.
Staff must ensure children have a positive, fun, safe experience while at the program, understand the unique nature of children, and deal with any behavioral issues or problems within the YMCA philosophy. Staff must actively engage and participate with children in sports, games, crafts. Also must interact positively and present self as an appropriate role model in all interactions with parents, coworkers and children. HS diploma and experience working with child required
